Methods

       Teacher led and student centered activities will be used to better explain math comparison and comparison symbols.

 

 Cooperative Learning
       Students will work in pairs and small groups during activities

                       

 Use of Technology Tools and Resources

         Students will watch a YouTube video that helps explain math comparison.

 

 

       Students will use a preloaded Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to input the salt, fat, and sugar content of 3 different cereals. Students will later use the data on the spreadsheet to create a digital bar graph.

Materials

  • Computers/Laptops (2)

  •  Internet Access

  • Speakers

  • Projector

  • Microsoft Excel

  • 3 different cereals that are easy to count and have varying amounts of salt, fat, and sugar (Ex: Original Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Cookie Crisp)

  •  12 pack of 8 oz. cups (1)

  •  Copies of the Nutrition Facts for each cereal (1 per student)

  • Pencils

  • Filler paper
